...past...present...PERFECT...
(contd. from previous entry, March 2011, which i had promised doing)

Amsterdam is often called the Venice of the North. The Netherlands (Holland) is considered to be the most densely populated country on earth, with over 6 million residents.

p/s ... a must-see...Rotterdam, impressive harbour...not as hectic and noisy as Amsterdam and to me it felt more "Dutch".In Amsterdam, modernity is just so cool sometimes! If you know what I mean. There's red lights' streets as well. Not to mention Rotterdam's bunch of lovely museums! The Hague-Its architecture is great, it has access to the beach and of course all the international courts. The Netherlands are not exactly a very big country so we rented a car. Unlike M'sia, it's a left-hand drive, and not to confuse driving on the roads. At times we go on a train  and do round-trip in a couple of days! We managed to see some old Dutch culture at Arnhem and the 'Openlucht museum' (open air museum). There were a collection of old Dutch buildings here. Maastricht- i find that it's the most beautiful city of the Netherlands. In the city, the best way to get around is by bike; it;s also the most friendly city on earth. I did enjoy riding  a lot here... cutting down some calories hopefully! hahaha...am not fat either! Speaking of progressive, unlike other countries i visited that had signage in English, i saw none or very little of this in Holland. Nearly everything was in Dutch. However - however, surprisingly, everyone speaks English...and they speak well. Oh yes, not forgetting to mention, these Dutch do speak Bahasa Indonesia as well. So, feel free to have the feelings like just being a stone away from home. We stayed here for a week before catching our flight back to Heathrow. Tired yet a very fruitful and  an exciting stay!
The surest thing is...there's no place like... home sweet home!  ;-)

 The Netherlands
Madurodam is a miniature city located in Scheveningen,
