World Car-Free Day focuses on giving the climate a break by taking cars off the road 365 days a year, not just September 22,

Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd (Prasarana), the country's public transport operator, will be giving out 150,000 free rail tickets to encourage the public to leave their cars at home in conjunction with the World Car-Free Day today. The free one-way tickets, valid only during the weekends and public holidays, can be used for the Ampang, Kelana Jaya and monorail lines, and will be distributed in stages from today to Sept 22, 2012. The time and venue of the free ticket giveaways will be announced online via social networking sites Twitter (@MYRapidKL) and Facebook (facebook.com/my- rapid) starting today. today.
